Days of Belgrade
Days of Belgrade are dedicated, as anyone can tell, to the city itself. They are held every year from 16th to 19th April. This manifestation relates to two important dates. First is April 16, 878 A.D. when Slavic name "Belgrade" was first mentioned in a letter from Pope John VIII to the Bulgarian Prince Boris; second one is April 19, 1867 when Turkish commander Ali Riza pasha symbolically handed over keys of the city to Prince Mihailo. During these days, various cultural manifestations are organized all over the city.
